HEATHER MORRISON
Communications Lead
Heather's career is dedicated to advocating for vulnerable individuals, evident through her frontline roles as a case manager and counsellor, specializing in youth justice, family and sexual violence, and mental health in indigenous communities. She brings expertise in political organizing, policy development, and IT to CMWH. Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program at Queen's University, Heather investigates how Public Pedagogy contributes to cultivating responsible citizenship and driving social change, with backing from prestigious fellowships. Her research aims to establish the groundwork for Canada's first women's history museum by presenting a compelling evidence-based argument.
Heather is the founder and visionary drive behind the Canadian Museum of Women's History.

I am currently the Operations Manager for the Kingston Native Friendship Centre in addition to working in the community to re-learn traditional languages and to educate our youth. I am the president of the Kingston Thunder Women, ( Ontario Native Women's Association chapter). I also sit with the local CFS agency’s Keweywin Circle, whose focus is to reunite children with their families and culture. My Fiance Tracy and I are mothers to 4 grown children and tota/kookom to 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. We are both firekeepers, pow-wow dancers and sundance helpers.
Together we are building a life centred around our traditional ways of knowing and being.

Caitlyn is a dedicated advocate for the rights and well-being of all individuals, regardless of their personal situations. With a strong background in community services and personal support, she consistently demonstrates a commitment to fostering trust and building meaningful relationships with clients and their families.
Her experience spans various roles, including personal support worker and relief staff in several Kingston organizations such as The Gathering Place, Home Base Housing, and the Boys and Girls Club.
Caitlyn is a graduate with a Diploma in Community and Justice Services from St. Lawrence College. Caitlyn combines her academic knowledge with practical experience to make a positive impact in the community. Her dedication and passion for helping others underscore her professional journey and personal mission.

Paul is an educator, analyst and organizer who has built a noteworthy career in higher education, association administration and consulting. He holds a Master’s degree in Post-Secondary Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he instructs courses in the M.Ed. program. He is also an Ontario Certified Teacher. He has worked with colleges and universities in Ontario and in Newfoundland and Labrador and been the Chief Staff Officer of a national professional association.
Paul has contributed to his fields by conducting research, conceiving, and delivering innovative programming and through the development of best practices.
Paul is an active contributor to his community as a board member with groups working in support of youth and of others at risk. He believes there is honour in all work, citizenship calls for engagement, and we gain more when we work together.
He lives in Kingston, ON.

Houaida is passionate about global engagement and ethical storytelling, with a strong commitment to accessibility and equity. Her work spans classroom teaching, scholarly website management, and social media strategy for cultural institutions.
She currently supports the Feminist Intersectional Research Network and the Canadian Museum of Women’s History in organizing academic materials, verifying citations, and enhancing public outreach.

Her experience spans interdisciplinary areas, including museum work at the Westbank Museum and Visitor Centre, where she explored local histories, as well as social media management within UVic departments. Rachel has also gained international experience
through a traineeship at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment in Belgium, combining academic knowledge with practical exposure to global policy and
governance.
Rachel is currently working under the Feminist Imaginary Research Network (UVic) in collaboration with the International Association of Women’s Museums (Merano, Italy), contributing to research and initiatives that explore feminist perspectives in museum practices and promote the preservation and representation of women’s histories globally.
